I've been going through the house trying to get things ready for the home study (when the social worker comes into our home and inspects it) part of the process. Child proofing random things I think of, putting all cleaning supplies in a high place, aspirin and Tylenol need to be in a locked box, and the list goes on and on....and on! On top of that, Jaron and I need to get down to business and finish our foster care application, my goal is to get that sent out by wed. Looking at all the things we need to accomplish just for the foster care part of this is a little bit over whelming. We just have to always remember that God has everything in control and He knows what he is doing:)
When we had our meeting with our social worker (dee) she was telling us that most of the children that are coming through the system are born addicted to drugs. She was warning us how difficult this would be for us. The child will at times wake up shaking and screaming, the state offers good contacts for us to help us through this time in the child's life. With the right help the child will get better. A customer came into my work knowing that I was starting the adoption process and she actually works with drug addicted children. This lady told me that she would be able to give me answers and support on how to deal with this. I'm so thankful that God is already bringing people into our lives that will be able to help us if we get a drug addicted child.
I also just want to say....Thank you all for your prayers! We definitely need it especially through this time. I'm so blessed to have family and friends that are surrounding us in their prayers.
