Oh Boy!.....literally.

Tuesday afternoon I got a call from San Joaquin county telling me about Bret, a 5 month old baby boy! Our case worker was telling me that they thought Jaron and I matched up perfectly with this baby boy. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He was born with club foot, due to his mother using meth while pregnant with him. Look up club foot if you don't know what it is, I had no clue what it was. His feet are turned inward. He is wearing braces right now on his feet for treatment to get his feet straight. They don't know if he will need surgery or not. He is perfect to us and to the Lord.
We are told he loves to cuddle and be held, "talks" and smile all the time. Our next step in the process is to meet with his social worker and find out more information about him and his mother(who has never gone to visit with him ever). if everything falls in place and we feel God is wanting him to be part of our family we will meet him and bring him home!
This is not stopping us to fight for violet! Yes we are crazy for probably getting two kids in one year that are only a month apart in age but this is what we want:).........We are praying for the Lords will to be done. Does this really surprise you though?.....I do come from a family with 9 kids:) I have always wanted twins....this is Gods way of answering my prayers!
We will probably have bret within the next couple weeks. Pray that everything will go smoothly and we will be able to have everything ready by the time we bring him home.
I will update you guys more when we have more information!

  5. I just saw your blog from Cassie Blythe who posted your blog on a mom swap website in Central Oregon.
I am actually a foster mother for 23 years of medically fragile infants. I have incredible experience in drug babies, and actually adopted a little boy (his mother too was a meth addict) who came to us 16 years ago at 10 months old. He is now 17 and amazing! We have also adopted a little girl who is now 10. She was born at 26-28 weeks to a meth addict and is doing great, although she's had a very rough go of it. Let me know if you need any advice, someone to talk to, or to brag to! I'm there for you two! You will face rough roads in the future, but trust me, he will be no different to you than if you had given birth to him! CONGRATULATIONS!

  8. Cassie shared your story with me. That's awesome news for you all! My feet were turned in when I was a newborn and I had to wear casts on them to correct it. So happy for you all!
